Latino's on Prime Time: Who's In and Who's Out

This year prime time line up included many shows with Latino actors getting some play on the major networks that included Broke and The Baker and The Beauty.

The Beauty and The Baker had the best outcome with it's two hour finale receiving impressive rating numbers despite the times we're currently living in. The show is a US reboot of a show that has great success in Israel, The Baker and the Beauty had a great production with the first two episodes directed by veteran producer, David Frankel. The show also included a well curated music selection of classics and new artist and was available on Spotify every week. Currently the nine episode series can be binged on Hulu. Despite the fanfare, the show was also cancelled by ABC network.

Following great success on Jane the Virgin, actor Jaime Camil got another series, this time on Broke on CBS and making the him first Latino to star in a CBS half-hour comedy since Desi Arnaz. The show drew an impressive 7 million viewers in its first episode, but unfortunately got cancelled.
